Half Way There!
Well today marks 20 weeks! Wow, that went fast, but if I remember correctly the first half goes much quicker then the second. Oh well, Johnny will be here before we know and our little "nut house" will get just a bit nuttier! We go for our big 20 week appointment on Friday after school. We have officially decided that we are going to wait so it's always fun to watch the ultra sound technician try to not say or show anything.

Spring in January :)
What a beautiful weekend it has been! It has been in the mid 60's all weekend and we took advantage of it. Yesterday JB, Anna and I went to the park and had a blast. Anna is getting to be such a big girl. She is climbing everything by herself and has no fear. Then we took a nice bike ride down to our wonderful neighbors, The Hudson's. It's always so wonderful just to sit and catch up with them :)
Today after a nice church service we came home and had all intentions of taking a "short nap" and then head over to the other park to fly kites. Well the "short nap" turned into a two and a half hour nap. Oops. so we decided to pass on the park and grill out instead. Aunt T came over and we grilled up some Omaha Steaks that Grammy and Poppy had bought us for dinner. Mmmmmm!!
Well getting ready to turn in and get some rest before another week begins. I cannot believe February starts this week. January went so fast, hopefully this month will be a little slower. Yeah right!

Happy Friday
Happy Friday!
I love Fridays because it means that I will get the next two days to spend with my wonderful family! However, its funny because at the same time I almost don't like to see Fridays come because it's the end of my work week and I love my job!! As I mentioned earlier I am an educator, but I am no longer a classroom teacher. I spent the last 7 years teaching at Rhyne Elementary and boy was it a roller coaster!! Some days were so rewarding and I knew this was exactly where I belonged and other days I would just sit and wonder is this really what I want to be doing for the rest of my life. So about 7 months I decided to take my career down a different path and so far I have been so happy with the decision I made.
A good friend of mine came to me at the end of the school year last year and told me that the county was going to hire a group of people to work with Title 1 schools. They would be called Instructional Facilitators. There role would be to work with one or two schools helping with Professional Development (As any educator knows, this year is full of Professional Development with the rolling out of Common Core) and working with teachers on an individual basis as well as team basis. Pretty much anything you could think of in a school, from making copies, to modeling lessons to working with beginning or struggling teachers. So I decided to apply and see what happened. After an intense 3+ hour interview that I literally almost came out of in tears a few weeks later I received a call and was offered the job.
I of course took the job and was so excited, but it was hard to say goodbye to Rhyne. That was my first "real" job and it made me the teacher/educator that I am today. I had to say goodbye to teachers I had worked with for 7 years and kids that I had seen grow up since kindergarten. They had truly become my family. I'll admit I did shed a few tears, (come on, anyone that knows me knows that's not nothing out of the ordinary lol) but I am still working very closely with a lot of the people there and have used them as resources when I need someone with more specific expertise.
For the last five months everyday has been a new adventure and no two days are the same. I am really looking forward to the rest of this school year to see what other adventures I have in store for me!

Hi! My name is Shannon. I am a mother, a wife and an educator. Oh yeah and expecting another child in June. My life is crazy, but I love it! I have been reading a lot of people's blogs lately, so I figured I would give it a try. I don't know if anyone will read this or even care, but if anything it will be fun for me to look back at.
Like I said I am new at this and kind of teaching myself so this may not look too pretty at first, but hopefully it will get better. Here's a little more about me. I have an AMAZING daughter. She will be 3 in May and is just hilarious. She's very well behaved, for the most part, but as my mom always says "Most kids are good when they are an only child, its when you have more that it starts to get more difficult." So I guess that will be put to the test in June.

Number 2 is due June 19th. For the record we refer to number 2 as Johnny Cash. When we found out we were pregnant we asked our daughter if she wanted a brother or a sister and she told us brother. We then asked her what she would name him and we got her normal response "Not know". So we told her that we would call him Johnny and her response (I told you she was hilarious) was 'Oh Johnny Cash?" So that name has just stuck. Later we found out that she watched a show at the babysitter's called Johnny Test, so that's probably what she said, but it was too late. Johnny Cash had stuck. Here's the problem though, we are not finding out if we are having a boy or a girl. So we may call this baby Johnny Cash for 8 months and then it turn out that we have a girl. LOL As of right now Anna is super excited to be a big sister. She kisses and hugs my belly all the time and says "I love you Johnny Cash". However once Johnny is here for about 2 or 3 weeks and she has to share all the attention she normally gets she may want to send him/her back. We'll have to wait and see
